Making Salt

Aim:

To produce copper sulfate salt by reading copper oxide with an acid.

Equipment:

copper oxide powder, dilute (o.5mol L-1 sulfuric acid, 50 ml measuring cylinder, two 100 mL beakers,bunsen burner, tripod, gauze  mat, funnel, filter paper, thermometer, spatula, evaporating basin, stiring rod.

Method:

1)Add 20m mL of sulfuric acid to a 100 mL Beaker. heat the acid until it reaches 70C. Turn off your bunsen burner.

2)Once headed use a spactular to add pea-sized portions of copper oxide to the beaker. stir the mixture for 30 seconds.

3)Repeat step 2 until no more will dissolve.Allow the beaker to cool.

4)Fold the filter paper and place in the funnel. Place the filter funnel into the second beaker.

5)Make sure the beaker is cool enough to hold at the top. The contents should still be hot. You may need your teacher to complete this step.

6)Gently swirl the contents of the beaker to mix, and then pour into the filter paper in the funnel.

7)Rinse the beaker you used to heat the mixture previously, and place it back on top of your tripod filled with 50-60 mL of water.

8)Place the evaporating basin on top on the beaker and carefully pour some of the solution from the beaker into the evaporating basin.

9)Gently heat the beaker until the solution in the evaporating basin has reduced by half.

10) Leave the evaporating basin to cool. Once cool,move the evaporating basin to a warm place where it will not be disturbed. (i.e. a window-sill) and observe over the next few days. Blue copper sulfate crystal should form.

People who enjoyed their music were mostly young and enjoyed it a lot because when the Beatles music started to be composed, they were obsessed with it because most of the previous songs never talked about love, sex, drugs, alcohol and many other things.

Haters of the Beatles

People who didn't like the Beatles were mostly old and didn't like them because they hated that the music spoke about all of the things that they thought shouldn't have been done until marriage. The Beatles inspired their fans to do things like drugs, Sex and other things which the parents and old people didn't like them doing, because they thought they were sinning and thought they'll go to hell.

I woke up from alarms screaming in my ears, sweat running down my spine, I was unsure what was going on. I started to panic, Many men dressed in yellow suits threw me onto there shoulder as they ran outside they threw me to the grown, as I looked up, smoke evaporated into the sky as my house turned into ashes.

Beatles (Social studies) Here comes the sun

Yesterday in Social studies we have started learning about the Beatles and what they did to change music, we have listened to some of there songs.

In this blog ill be explaining what a song that I listened to is about.

The song that I have chosen to talk about is ¨here comes the sun¨, I chose this song because I have heard this song before.

This song basically telling others that everything will be alright as it says ¨Its alright ¨ And is just telling everyone that if somethings going wrong it will get better. And don´t focus on the past look forward to the future.

This song is different to songs that were made before cause most song before this songs mostly never talked about feeling and emotions but in these songs emotions and feeling are sung in almost every song that they wrote.

My heart pounded through my chest,Fear as I strolled through the shops doors, Adrenaline as I Slipped the items into my bag, Embarrassment as customers watched me, Fear as I walked past employees.

The Haka

Hello welcome to my blog this blog is about the Haka that the Maori battalion did.

1 What is this line referring to?
'Tis death! 'tis death! (or: I may die) 'Tis life! 'tis life! (or: I may live)
'Tis death! 'tis death! 'Tis life! 'tis life!
Its them basically saying there going to war, they may die or they might live.

2 Research how the Haka was used successfully by the Maori Battalion in World War One and how the Maori Battalion was viewed. 
It was used to scare the enemy's and it worked.

3 How was the Ka Mate Haka first used in Aotearoa?

It was a war dance to intimidate the other tribes if they upset them.

4 What is the Haka symbolic of now and where is it used today?

We see the Haka being performed in many other sports.

ANZAC Post

This week in Social Studies we been learn about WW1 and what happened during these time, We also learnt what the soldiers went through

When do you hear this song?

25th aprill On ANZAC day and We hear this song on remembrance day, and this is played at dawn services and other events like at different war memorials.

Why is this song significant/important to New Zealand?

This song is important to New Zealand because it reminds us what the Australian and New Zealand soldiers went through. And shows respect to all the soldiers that went to war and died and the soldiers who didn't.

What is the History behind the Last post - Why was it played and when?

It played because Anzac day is really important to celebrate in Australia/New Zealand lots of army serve their life just to protect our country

What does this song represent?

The national day of remembrance is for all Australian and New Zealand who served and died in all wars. Anzac day was first Happened in 1916. The day has gone through many changes since. The ceremonies that are held at war memorials in New Zealand, and in places overseas where New Zealanders gather, are modelled on a military funeral and remain rich in tradition and ritual.

Ramadan is celebrated by yourself so basically if you are 15 years old you have to participate in it.

This is important because is is a religious thing and good for you.
