Pe Hurumanu.

Today in our Pe Hurumanu we were doing our last little touches to our Pe document about Dodgeball.
We added what we were going to do for our drill and explained how were going to learn and improve on our skill that we want to teach and learn about.
After we had finished our document we went into the gym and did our warm up which was streches and when we were finished our streches we grabbed some balls and we practised throwing and catching becasue in Dodgeball you can get your opponent out by catching the ball that they threw at you.

Why we like the All Blacks.

Yesterday in Cip we had to create a video about why we like the all blacks, the people in my group where Tai, Blake and Tamani.
If you can't hear what where saying Tamani likes the All Blacks because they repersent our country, Blake said he likes the All Blacks because they all ways have a good atitude even if they win or lose. I said I like the All Blacks because they have good ball skills, and Tai said he likes the All Blacks because when they lose they always comeback and win their next game.
This is our video.

Investigation.

What is biomass?
Biomass is plant or animal material used for energy production

What are the 5 types of biomass?

  1.  Wood /
  2.  Crops /
  3.  Alcohol fuels /
  4.  Garbage /
  5.  Landfill gas /
What are three benefits of biomass?
  1.   Biomass is used as a fuel.
  2.    Biomassis always available and can be produced as a renewable resource.
  3.    Its cheaper than fossil fuels.
What are three disadvantages of biomass?
  1. biomass energy is not as efficient as fossil fuels.
  2.   Biomass is not as eficient as fosill fuels.
  3.   Its bad for your health.
VG Bryce
Research the following types of Biomass.
You will need to:
Write a definition of the each fuel.
Answer each question
  • How is it made?
  • What is it used for?
  • Where is it made?
  • What is it made with?
  • What countries use it?
Place 2 images of the fuel.
What are its uses in the future?

Aim; To look at the different ways we can prevent climate change in the future.

Changing Our Future

Name 3 fossil fuels?
Gas Oil and Cole.
What is the cost?
Carbon dioxide
The CO2 level has soured since when?
1760 industrial revolution.
What are the effects in the UK?

  1.    Heat waves.
  2.    Animal extinction.
  3.    flooding.
How many climate refugees will there be in Britain by 2050?
200 million.

When will Fairborn be flooded?
In the next 26 years

What are some of the other things that will be 'swallowed by the waves'?
  1.   Gas plants
  2.   Power stations
  3.   Toxic dumps
  4.   sewer systems
  5.   clouds
How can we stop climate change?
  1.    Remove gas heating
  2.    All cars / Buses need to use hydrogen or batteries.
  3.    Fly less.
  4.    Cut back on meat consumptions.
  5.    Recycle More.
What ideas are school children having about climate change?
  1.    That they dont want to have kids because they dont want them to live like this.
  2.    Protest
  3.   Write letters to their politicians.
What is the atmosphere called?

a Waste Dump.

What is the last statement the reporter made?

We know what we need to do, we have got the technology. What we lack is the

 political will.

What can we do?

  1.
  2.
  3.

CURBING CLIMATE CHANGE

What is the one, silver bullet solution?

What is the mix of things we need to start doing?
  1.
  2.

What are 3 others you can think of?
  1.
  2.

Activity: Ranking climate change issues.

Using the worksheet,  rank the issues from climate change.

MY INVESTIGATION

Aim: To look at how I can prevent climate change in the future.

1. Complete the activity Ecological Handprint.

2. Complete the activity Carbon Footprint.

What will you do to stop climate change? Using ideas from the Ecological Handprint and Carbon Footprint list 10 changes that you can make to stop Climate change?

Free writing.

Today in Community time we had do some free writing and this is what I wrote.

16/08/19
Cats or Dogs.

If I could choose to  have a cat or a dog I would definitely choose a dog because their way more active and   you can play with them a lot and their really cute .

But if you have a cat all they really do is sleep  eat poop in your house, and that's something no one enjoys cleaning or looking at.

And that’s why I  would choose to have a Dog.

What we did:
This term in Art Hurumanu we planned a script and a video which we made on an app called stop motion the students in my group were Tasharn,Alex and Shane. At the beginning of this Hurumanu it's fair to say that we were a little bit confused on what we were doing but we ended up finishing our stop motion and it was actually a really good little video.
What I learned:
  • In this Hurumanu I learnt how to make a video on stop motion I learnt how to create a video using clay and also how to create a script to go with the little video. In the first couple weeks we learnt how to do a storyboard and I also learnt what all the different camera angles are. I also learnt how to finish my work while working with student that I wouldn't choose to work with.
What I enjoyed:
  • I enjoyed creating the video because it's something that I had never done before.I liked learning about what the different camera angles. I liked using the clay and creating cool objects like kayaks and little people to go into our video, I also liked learning how to make a script but the one thing that I was most proud of was finishing the slide and watching the finished video.
What I found difficult:
  • I think my group worked alright but the one thing that I struggled with would have to be trying to get everyone involved and trying to get all the work done in the time given but overall I think that it was good because we got the task finished and considering  that we used a digital app that we hadn't used before.

Learning Confrerences.

These are my Learning Conferences slide that I will be sharing with my Mum on Thursday.

Cip Letter Reflection.

Today in CIP we had to create a letter to someone who is important to us and I wrote to my mum.
In my Letter I wrote Thanks for organising sport and school I thanked her for raising me I Thanked her for feeding me everyday,I thanked her for puting up with me when im naughty and I also thanked her for comforting me when I'm feeling down. I also Told her why I choose to write about her.
We did this activity beacause the point of this CIP is to make people happy and other things.
This made me feel happy beacuse she responded like five minutes after I had shared it and her response looked like it made her happy.

Art hurumanu stop motion.

Today in Art hurumanu Alex,Shane and Myself, finished our Stop Motion that we have been planning for the last 6 to 7 weeks, and it turned out pretty good.
This whole hurumanu was based on a a word called Manakitanga, which means Kindness looking after each other and also means helping each other out.
I personaly think this hurumanu was fun learning how to use stop motion and also doing my first video.

Place value DLO.

Today in Maths interchange Levi and Myself     finished a DLO which is all about place value.
It shows how to use place value and it shows what the different columns are called.
Check it out.

Cip Kids can activity.

Today in CIP we had to choose a activity.I choose a activity. That said I had to create a DLO to explain what the charity Kids can do for students all around New Zealand.
And this is what I wrote.

Cip Mufti day.

Last Wednesday In C.I.P Tobey and I created a DLO to show Hornby High School student that we have a mufti day which we called Radical Rainbow. To participate you will have to bring a gold coin donation which is going to the kids can organisation If you've never heard of this organisation or if your wondering why we are raising money for them its because they give kids all over christchurch things that their family can afford like shoes, food, clothes and many more things. The point of this mufti is to wear very colourful clothes or you could even team up with your friends for example you could wear yellow your friend could wear pink and your other friend could wear red.
Check this image out to see more of what I'm talking about.
