To me "Yellow Brick Road" was really random when I first heard it as id never heard the expression before.
When I hear the "Yellow Brick Road" I seem to think it'll be about some sort of childhood story and have small strange characters.
On the first page, the narrator mentions some reasons why they move are because they need the money but the dad thinks they're moving for a better life.
The big difference between waituhi and wellington is there are a lot of pakeha people and lots of more money in wellington.
On page 3 there Dad told uncle, they're moving to wellington because he wants his kids to grow up with everything because he knows how hard it was as he struggled all his life.
As they got closer and could see how far Wellington was they started to get excited for what was going to happen and change, but they can see that this might not be what they think it is.
In this story the author compared The Wizzard Of Oz because in that movie they all thought someone was gonna come and save them but when he turned up he ended up not to be what they thought he was an in the end they end up sorting out there problems together, in this story the same thing is kinda happening when they get there they will be able to do what theyre aiming to do if they stick together an help each other out.
